27 Mar 2015: St. Peter's Church, Malacca (also known as Church of Saint Peter) is the oldest operational Catholic Church in Malaysia. It was built in 1710 on land donated by the Dutchman Maryber Franz Amboer. Its rich history and significance in the Catholic communities around the world can be witnessed through the incessant large number of pilgrims coming from different parts of the world visiting and attending the religious celebrations at the Church. One cannot miss the oldest item in the church – the Church bell, manufactured in Goa in 1608. It was salvaged from an earlier church burned by the Dutch during their 1641 occupation.

St. Peter's Church has recently opted for GECKO® C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® sound system for its main sanctuary's sound system upgrade. This upgrade is completely necessary to achieve an expandable and efficient system which is low in maintenance, easy to operate, with uncolored audiophile-grade sound reproductions that focus on clarity, intelligibility, as well as balanced and equal volume sound coverage, while meeting OSHA and WSHC safety standards for health (hearing), and low EMF radiations.
